Prologue

THIS IS WHAT I TRULY BELIEVE IS COMING TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE – PLEASE FELLOW AMERICANS DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN TO US.

“Citizen, please present your driver’s license, registration and VITA card” the gaunt, lanky officer said, seemingly impervious to the noon sun that was blistering everything else around her.

“Uh. ..  Officer, I have a Liberty card, I like their representatives better.”

Before the citizen had finished, the officer replied: “Citizen, New Aspen no longer accepts payments from Liberty. They missed their payment this morning by almost a full hour. New Aspen’s Public Safety Compliance Division cannot and will not permit such a flagrant display of non-compliance.”

“An HOUR? You’ve got to be kidding! Look, My company just direct deposited my  weekly allocation into Liberty’s account. I am in compliance with Public Safety”; panic slowly saturating his voice.

“Citizen, you are losing credits as you speak. You are most definitely not in compliance. If you were, you would have known that Liberty Compliance Cards were no longer accepted as of 6 o’clock this morning. You would have filed for a transfer of credit,  in the meantime, you would have deposited additional credits into a new account with VITA. Furthermore you would not have raised your voice to me. As of now your Safety Contribution is only 152 credits. Will you be paying with a corporate voucher or out of your sustenance?”

“Oh please officer, uh. . . a. . . 152 credits? It takes me 3 days to make that. If you take that out of my sustenance, I won’t be able to buy my families preservative products. It’s supposed to be over 115° this week.”

“Citizen it is my responsibility to insure that the mandates of New Aspen are complied with. It is your responsibility to comply. Just as it is also your responsibility to provide preservative products to your family.  Perhaps you should use this week to reflect on how you have been managing your life. If you had not been going so slow, you would have been in compliance and we would not be talking. If you had checked the Safety Compliance site this morning as is mandated by Social Mandate #123 you would have known that Liberty Compliance Cards were no longer accepted by New Aspen, you would have opened an online account with VITA and you would not have to pay from your sustenance.” The officer seemed pleased with her monologue.

“Even giving you the benefit of the doubt, if you had not been living so extravagantly up until now, you would have saved enough credits in your sustenance account so as to remain in compliance and provide for your family. The fault is clearly yours. You should be thankful that non-compliance with Social Mandate #123 carries no additional Social Contribution.

The  car’s faded paint, cracked seats and smell exuded the opposite of extravagance. The two small children in the back were clean but their clothes were not high quality or even new. The sleeves of the woman’s shirt was tattered and the man’s suit was in bad need of a dry cleaning.

Swiping the man’s card and reading the digital display on her card reader handset, the officer growled indignantly “And it’s just as I thought! You do not even have enough in your sustenance account to pay your safety contribution.”

From the side of handset, the officer drew a plastic hand grip, with what appeared to be a metal tongue depressor sticking out of it. With her thumb pressed so tightly against the plastic sheath that backed metal protrusion that her knuckle turned  white, officer asked in a rough and ominous tone: “Do you have a corporate voucher?” The heat and tension in the air slowed time to a stop.

The man stared straight ahead sweating profusely, mucus dribbling slightly from his nostrils and beginning to cry.

Through clinched teeth the officer barked: Deadbeat!”

“Get out of the car citizen.”

Resembling a small terrified child, with tears now fully streaming down his face and his lips forming a bubble of spit film when he faced the officer and pleaded:  “Officer, I have to get to work. I have. . . I mean want . .  to be in compliance with my job. If I am out of compliance again this year I will be . . . disenfranchised.”

“Get out of the car citizen.” Her voice spoke in a deep growl  that  was not  human sounding but something more akin to a large wolf.

“Officer pleaaaaaaassssssssss. . .. . the word sizzled and gurgled out of the citizen’s mouth as the officer’s stunner pressed firmly against the left side his neck. The citizen’s chin dropped sharply as his body wracked in a deep convulsion. His right shoulder twisting down and towards the driver’s side door so much so it appeared as if the citizen was now sitting sideways in his seat. The horn began croaking out a weak beep as the man’s shoulder struck  against the wheel.

The officer withdrew the stunner and the citizen collapsed and began choking and spitting out gargling sounds. Drool streamed out of the right corner of his mouth running down the steering wheel and mingling with the dark stain of urine now forming in the crotch of his dirty and wrinkled white summer suit. The horn went silent.

The children whimpered quietly in the back seat, staring at the floor, never meeting the officer’s gaze. The woman now looking at the glove box and sobbing deeply, rocking back and forth shaking; wringing her hands.  And . . . just as the children, totally avoiding the officer’s gaze.

Returning the card scanner/stunner to her belt with one hand and with the other touching the wireless communicator in her ear, her voice returning to normal but still eerily   deep and raspy for a woman: “I need transport for a deadbeat at IT-76 and Proper Ln; yes just before the off ramp.”  Looking into the car, attempting to meet the gaze of the mother or either of the children the officer continued: “It looks like I just need transport for one.”

Her tone flat and businesslike: “You are franchised are you not?”

“Yes officer, at Nottingham Information Systems.” I am an Under-Administer” the woman spoke her face wet with tears but her tone now devoid of emotion.

Opening the door and pulling the man’s body from the car with one arm and dropping it, with a sick thud, on the side the road: “Citizen take control of this vehicle and continue to your destination. Be sure to comply with all safety mandates and have a nice day”.

A light grey van pulled up behind the officer’s car as she dragged the citizen’s limp body along the shoulder towards it.

Another deadbeat, can you imagine?” A finely dressed woman behind the wheel of a 925 Bergamot Luxury Coupe, passing the scene, said to a sheepish man in the passenger seat. “How is it that people do not understand? Mandates must be complied with or you must pay your contribution. Without contributions we wouldn’t have officers, and with out officers we would have pollution, chaos, madness, crime, WAR EVEN!”

“I. . . d-d-don’t think . . it-t w-w-would b-be all th-th-that. . . b-b-bad.” The man stuttered.

“What!  Be careful Timothy. Someone will report you for public dissonance. They might have heard you already.” She pointed to a small microphone below a blue button with an unlit LED light above it. In small white letters read the words “Compliance Assistance”

“I. . . m-m-mean we. . need o-o-officers o-of c-course. I-I-I j-just d-don’t th-think w-w-w-we  w-w-w-would f-f-fall ap-p-p-art w-w-with-th out th-them.”

Turning up the radio and squeezing the man’s hand so tight he winced and leaning to whisper in his ear: “ARE YOU INSANE??? PUBLIC DISSONANCE IS EXPENSIVE!!! WE DON’T HAVE THOSE KIND OF CREDITS TO WASTE.”

Their eyes widened and their bodies went rigid as they simultaneously noticed the now blue light above the microphone. The music fell silent.  A pleasant, even cheerful sounding woman began speaking over the car speakers.

“Good afternoon citizens. You are aware of the need for compliance with social mandates. If you are not, it is your responsibility to be. Speaking out against any of the mandates of New Aspen is categorized as Public Dissonance. This is a serious violation of Social Mandate #1. Which states: All citizens must; in all intentions, words, thoughts and deeds support, edify and obey the social mandates of New Aspen because the Social Mandates will provide us all with safety and security. To suggest that we could possibly survive without compliance officers is obviously in violation of this mandate.”

The voice cheerfully continued “Mr. Hayden because you have no recent violations, your Social Compliance Contribution or SCC is only 3000 credits. Mrs. Hayden, you have no recent violations either. Your SCC is only 1000 credits. You have violated Safety Mandate #2 which states: Before all other stations in life, every man woman and child is a citizen of New Aspen. Regardless of the source it is the responsibility of every citizen to report public dissonance. Failing to do so will result in a social contribution directly proportionate with the magnitude of the dissonance read, observed or overheard either in person, via communication port, reproduced or transmitted as a documentary or casual form of entertainment. In this case, such a violation of Social Mandate #2 requires a social compliance contribution equal to 33.3% of the dissonance observed. In this case your SCC shall be 1000 credits.”

Continuing after a slight pause “We received each of your weekly deposits from your franchisors this morning and with them, Mrs Hayden you had; 3680 compliance credits available. I have deducted 1000 credits and your balance is now 2680 unless you have a digital voucher you would like to present at this time.”

Responding in an equally cheery voice: “No dear that won’t be necessary, I still have plenty in our account. We are terribly sorry for the inconvenience. Aren’t we Timothy?

“Of course dear.” The man spoke clearly and cheerily as well, with no noticeable stutter.

There is no need for apologies citizen, your contribution has been paid. Mr. Hayden your previous balance, before our transaction, was 4000 credits. You now have 1000, unless you have a digital voucher you would like to present at this time?”

“No thank you I am sure my remaining credits will suffice.”

Her voice lowering to a near whisper. “Be sure they are Mr. Hayden such a gentile and productive member of society would not fair well to be treated as a deadbeat.”

“Thank you I am sure of it!” Timothy replied smiling and laughing nervously.

“I am glad to be of service to New Aspen and to its citizens. Have a good day and be sure to comply with all Social and Safety Mandates.  A complete list with detailed descriptions will be mailed to you as a courtesy reminder.”  With the sweet tone of an experienced customer service rep doing a special favor to a preferred customer, the voice whispered.  “And for such productive citizens I will be sure that you receive the deluxe gold embossed bound edition.” the blue light blinked out and the radio began blaring again.

With only the slightest perspiration forming at the hairline near their temples the two appeared happy and smiling, staring straight ahead. Not another word was spoken.

In the past 40 years the US has reduced its agricultural production to a fraction of what it once was, the banks have swindled most of the  hard working but not so financially savvy farmers out of their land, and the press made it look like it was all their fault. Don’t you remember farm aid, and all the publicity that got. . . What did any of us do?  Nothing.  The heritage of the American culture was lost when we stopped relying on agriculture to keep money, land and control in the hands of the people.

To sit here and watch truly mindless people banter about who is better and who is worse while one by one our freedoms, our hopes and our opportunities are being slowly choked out of us one degree at a time.  We are not sheep here in America, we are a bunch of toads sitting in our “melting pot” waiting for the boil.  And before any of you retarded assholes post a reply saying I am just some whateverthefuck and  attempt to mock or discredit what I am saying, just open your fucking eyes -

We were a culture that protested injustice – When 4 American Students were shot on US soil during a Vietnam protest the country stopped. Now peoples rights get violated, by the government we allowed  to take over, so often you could set your watch by it and we just spectate and make commentary in lost rooms of the internet.  The battle for control of America was lost probably before I was born in 1968. All the talk about government conspiracies and Big Brother it was true, we didn’t listen and that’s why we now have the politicians and big business carving us up like the big fat boiled toads that we are.

What do you think the bailout was but everyone taking their share of the spoils before the fall.  It may not be a year it might be 10 years but if assholes like YOU AND ME don’t get our heads out of our asses and believe that our government no longer gives a shit about us and the system is deteriorating at a fairly constant rate until finally we we’ll see  a break up of states like Russia, or Yugoslavia or the end of America as we know it and the beginning of a political structure where the foundational freedoms our country was based on will be wiped away in our “BEST INTERESTS” – Do you know that as far back as Henry Kissinger presidents referred to us the common people as “useless eaters”.

Obama doesn’t give a fuck about any of us. And for anyone that wants to take an issue with that, respond to me with what he has done that has affected you personally. What has he done for you lately?  Throw out a few extra coins – “I’ll put a chicken in every pot and a car in every garage.” has been used since 1928 and has roots as far back as the 17th century France and King Henry IV. If ANY of our presidents cared about us in any way – Wouldn’t our country be safer, kinder, friendlier, happier, richer, more stable and more unified?

Instead we have people like the one’s I’m bitching about fighting over which President is best -  who should be given more rights – more bullshit about equality – nothing in life is equal – no one in life is equal  – nothing in life is fair (except what you have the ability to enforce as an individual) and you only have rights because the men with all the BIG guns tell you that you do.

Our Constitution didn’t help anyone in WACO – Oh I know he was a pedophile. So then; all the little girls he molested were better off being incinerated or dying of smoke inhalation at the hands of the US Government?  Think about it: IF YOU JUST LISTEN TO THEIR LIES YOU CAN SEE IT. I DON’T CARE WHAT HE OR ANYONE WAS DOING TO ANY OR ALL OF THE LITTLE GIRLS IN THAT COMPOUND – BURNING THEM (THE LITTLE GIRLS)  TO DEATH WASN’T THE ANSWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ~and the people that did it got away scott free~

Stop bickering with each other, open a book, read a web page, educate yourself about the country and times you live in. Of all people who have ever lived on this planet we have no excuse to be UNPREPARED FOR THE FALL OF THE US.  In the past 50 years we have seen Russia – Major world power – FALL, Yugoslovia – FALL and splinter into pieces, The Berlin Wall Fall   How can we be so ignorant, arrogant or just plain stupid to think that people who make 300,000 dollars a year plus give a fuck about us.  How many friends do you have that make that much?  How many people do you know that make that much?  Are they nice?

There are nice rich people, but they got nice producing things, making a difference, inventing things, refining things – rich people who do these kinds of things are, and have been, the backbone of our nation.  Not politicians who have never produced anything of value in their entire lives and have never associated with people of our income bracket:  < 100,000 dollars. And they work only for themselves and their peers.  They are playing chess with us as the pieces and as long as we buy into fighting for individual rights over human rights we are all toads in our “melting pot” being brought to a slow boil.

If you have the time to write to a stupid post on this god forsaken site – Take the time to research why the US doesn’t produce but a fraction of what it once did.In te 70′s America had Steel Mills, Huge Farms, Factories etc. . . Now everyone is bankrupt and the Government is “BAILING OUT THE BANKS?!?!?!?!?!?!

Does anyone have any Idea what a load of horse shit that is?!?!?!?   Just watch as you do nothing – and cash becomes a thing of the past, and fines start to get taken out of your account when you run a red light  – without a judge or cop, it will all be automated.   Just watch as they ask you to consider planting a microchip in your farm animals,(AGAIN DON’T BELIEVE ME -LOOK AND LISTEN -“ ITS ON THE BALLOTS NOW!!!! -  Just watch as they take away the constitutional right to having a WARRANT oh wait that already happened. – WAKE UP AMERICA – WAKE UP SLEEPY HEADS, YOU’VE ALMOST SLEPT THROUGH THE BATTLE.

I’m just a dumb fuck like the rest of us who has had enough bullshit served up to US as some newly discovered delicacy.  Stop bickering amongst ourselves!!! Open your eyes and minds to the possibility that the greatness that was America was based on that greatness coming from it’s people – its CITIZENS.   And it is our civic duty NOW to knock on our neighbors door, say “hi” and start talking about how we can fix this mess we have, because it is OUR FAULT – WE LET THIS HAPPEN – ALL OF US. And in this BRAVE NEW WORLD – only the strong and the well organized survive.  We aren’t strong as a people, we don’t have the weapons to fight a physical war, but we can fight a war of truth, of education, of unity, of brotherhood, of hope.  Pray to whatever god you believe in and start doing something to win the back the SPIRIT AND INTENTION OF WHAT AMERICA WAS FOUNDED ON AND IF YOU DON’T KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THAT IS; READ THE PREAMBLE. If you don’t know what that is. . .  you’ve slept too long.
